An authentic Konkani dish, the recipe adds drumsticks along with Prawns to impart a taste, which is unique. Take care to use the proportionate ingredient combinations given

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of Prawns (cleaned and deveined)
  • 3 Drumsticks (cleaned and cut)
  • 1 Potato (peeled and cut evenly)
  • 2 onion( 1 finely chopped, 1 Long chopped)
  • 1/2 grated Coconut
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 5 teaspoon Kokan Bazar Malvani Masala
  • 1 big spoon oil
  • 2 Garcinia Indica (Kokum)
    Salt as per taste

Tips

Garnish it with onion rings and finely chopped coriander leaves.

Serve with Rice / Chapatis

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Take a pan and heat oil. Add long chopped Onion and fry till they are golden brown in colour. Add 1/2 grated Coconut and fry till it is golden brown colour. After cooling, grind it in a mixer and set aside.

Step 2

In a pan add 1 big spoon of oil. Add finely chopped Onion and fry it till it is golden brown in colour.

Step 3

Add the drumsticks and potatoes in it. Add Kokan Bazar Malvani Masala, turmeric and salt. Add water so that drumsticks will cook.

Step 4

After the drumsticks and potatoes are boiled add the onion and coconut gravy and add prawns. Cook it with a lid on top for 10 minutes

Step 5

Add Garcinia Indica (Kokum). Stir, bring it to a boil, simmer it for a minute and it’s ready to serve
