An authentic Konkani dish, the recipe adds drumsticks along with Prawns to impart a taste, which is unique. Take care to use the proportionate ingredient combinations given.
Ingredients
- 200 grams of Prawns (cleaned and deveined)
- 3 Drumsticks (cleaned and cut)
- 1 Potato (peeled and cut evenly)
- 2 onion( 1 finely chopped, 1 Long chopped)
- 1/2 grated Coconut
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 5 teaspoon Kokan Bazar Malvani Masala
- 1 big spoon oil
- 2 Garcinia Indica (Kokum)
- Salt as per taste.
Tips:
Garnish it with onion rings and finely chopped coriander leaves.

Take a pan and heat oil. Add long chopped Onion and fry till they are golden brown in color. Add 1/2 grated Coconut and fry till it is golden brown color. After cooling, grind it in a mixer and set aside.
In a pan add 1 big spoon of oil. Add finely chopped Onion and fry it till it is golden brown in color.
Add the drumsticks and potatoes in it. Add Kokan Bazar Malvani Masala, turmeric and salt. Add water so that drumsticks will cook.
After the drumsticks and potatoes are boiled add the onion and coconut gravy and add prawns. Cook it with a lid on top for 10 minutes.
Add Garcinia Indica (Kokum). Stir, bring it to a boil, simmer it for a minute and it’s ready to serve.
